Mike Epps made a return to BTCC machinery yesterday during day two of the official Dunlop BTCC Tyre Test at Snetterton, piloting AMD Tuning’s MG6 GT to P5 out of 25 runners on the timesheets.
The 26-year old is halfway through season’s racing in UK Clio Cup as a recruit to brand new team Matrix Motorsport, his last BTCC encounter 9-months ago with Team Hard Racing at the 2017 BTCC Season Finale.
Commenting at the end of the day, Epps said: “Me, my team and partners have been working hard behind the scenes since this year began and this was a great opportunity to get back in a BTCC car during the summer break. AMD have a great team dynamic and I think the MG6 can be competitive in their hands. I’m happy what we managed do in a short space of time and confidant there was some more left in the tin. I have definitely missed that buzz.”
At present, Epps is set to continue challenging in the UK Clio Cup championship with the next rounds following BTCC back to Snetterton, Norfolk in two weeks time.
