In challenging conditions at Croft Circuit, Epps took home the Dunlop Forever Forward Award. This prestigious award is given to the driver that makes the most positions in a weekend of racing at the BTCC.
A strong start to the weekend enabled Epps to jump 5 places from 19th to finish strongly in 14th place and earn precious championship points. There was disappointment in race two for Mike after an alternator failure caused a retirement almost immediately after an impressive overtaking manoeuvre on multiple touring car champion Gordon Shedden.
As a consequence of retiring in race two, Epps started from 30th in changeable conditions in the final race of the weekend. In an impressive display of wet-weather driving, Epps piloted his Team Hard / RCIB Racing Avensis into 15th position - a net gain of 15 positions. This excellent result meant that Mike finished the first half of the season in the points.
